Our Contribution in Anti-Corruption Movement

Patriotism is at its all-time high. We rarely get to see the solidarity and unity of all the country men for a Nobel issue that we are witnessing these days. The perfect example of the fact that even a single man can bring about a revolution- Anna Hazare really deserves to be applauded for bringing the whole nation together in the fight against corruption. Hats off to him and the supporters who have joined the movement in their own way!

Have a Bigger Dream

When you find yourself caught in a loop of fearful, doubtful and worrisome thoughts about some minor or trivial issue, when you know these thoughts are taking you nowhere, when you want to come out of this loop but time and again you fall into it again, probably it’s because you have not assigned something significant for your mind to work on, probably you have allowed your mind to take the charge and make you follow it wherever it wants to roam and probably it’s high time to think about some meaning and purpose of your precious life.

Palam Vihar residents up in arms over poor civic facilities

Residents of Palam Vihar are upset over the administration’s indifference towards poor road conditions and encroachment on pavements. It is just a wall…… still, it is a wall.

It is just a wall…… still, it is a wall. A rough, banal surface, cheap white wash with yellow blotches; a reminisce of last year’s monsoon. A wall: why this word sounds so heavy? I remember my neighbor Ms. G and her boundary wall saga. Yes, it was the boundary wall, she told us created the whole ruckus between them. Mr. G.  decided to leave his wife because they couldn’t agree on the height of the boundary. A wave of shock swept our neighbor hood and left a swamp of rumors filling every backyard.

“Everything has beauty but not everyone can sees it “. This is a famous quote by Confucious and I didn’t find it in a book of philosophy but in a Chinese cook book. These lines were printed at the start of a chapter that contained recipes on stir fry (very appropriate!). In Chinese stir fry; different ingredients are cut in equal sizes, while maintaining their own unique colour and shape. Each one is stirred into piping hot oil, with the help of few sauces turned into a beautiful and delectable dish. Somehow, the process of stir fry resembles life.

The “Me” Time

Don’t  we know when we scold kids for no fault of theirs, when we shout at plumbers or electricians or any other worker for what they are not accountable, when we fume and fret at the fellow travelers in traffic  jams where they too are helpless like us. We know. We exactly know when we release our anger at someone who is not the real culprit but is definitely ‘smaller’ than us, either in age, profession or status. Why do we do it?
