PowerMark Early Career Prize in Photovoltaic Reliability

PowerMark Corporation has established a prize in Photovoltaic Module Reliability for an early-career scientist or engineer who has contributed in an outstanding and innovative way to the progress of photovoltaic reliability. Early career is defined as work performed within five years of the last degree earned. The nominee shall have contributed via a demonstrated accomplishment, documented via a publication or alternative.

A nomination letter of no more than 2 pages can be submitted by any knowledgeable third party such as thesis advisor, faculty member, supervisor, or colleague. A second nomination letter is optional. The nomination package must also include a 2-page CV and an in-depth description of the major accomplishment of no more than 4 pages, which should include reference to paper or draft paper, figures, etc. Service to community is evaluated as part of the PowerMark review process so any efforts by the nominee to support the PV community (mentoring, volunteer work, etc.) should be included.  All applications that don’t meet these requirements will be disqualified.

The Prize will consist of a Certificate and $2000. It will be publicly awarded at the NLR PVRW in March, 2027. (Recipients are encouraged to attend, but attendance at the PVRW workshop is not required.)

A subcommittee of the PowerMark Board of Directors will select the award winner. Nominations should be sent to JWPVReliability@ieee.org before January 15, 2027.

The prize is administered by PowerMark Corporation and not by the National Laboratory of the Rockies.
