Getting to Golden

By Air

Denver International Airport (DEN) is roughly 45 minutes to an hour from Golden by car or rideshare. Public transit takes 1.5-2 hours total, first going on the RTD A Line train from the airport to Denver Union Station, then transfer to the W Line light rail to the Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station. Some W line trains stop early, so please take notice that the W line train says it is going to Jeff Co Station. From the station, you can take a local bus or rideshare into downtown Golden.

By Car

For locals or those driving from a hotel, park in one of the lots listed below, which are all within 500 ft of the venue. Please pay for parking using the QR code at the parking lot, selecting the full day at $10/day. It is not advised to pre-pay for parking through the city website. The nearest QR code will appropriately locate your parking.

Parking Garage South: 1250 Jackson St, Golden, CO 80401

Between the Two Venues

At the end of lunch, we will go from The Buffalo Rose (oral session) to Friedhoff Hall (poster session). The venues are about a third of a mile apart. The walk is straightforward in good weather. Walking in downtown Golden and through the Mines campus can be very pleasant! A map is provided below. We will also provide shuttles that run on a continuous loop from 12:45 pm until the poster session ends at 3:00 pm. Oral sessions resume at The Rose at 3:00 pm, so plan to catch a shuttle or start walking by about 2:40 pm.

Weather

Early March in Golden can range from sunny and mild to snowy within the same week. Bring layers and footwear suitable for walking between venues in winter conditions. We also welcome you to celebrate snowy weather at higher altitudes on our spring ski day on Friday March 5th, after the workshop, at Loveland Ski Area.
